AFSG Newsletter...January, 2020

The AFSG Board wishes you and your family a Happy and Healthy New Year! I cannot believe it is 2020. Wasn’t it just yesterday I read George Orwell’s “1984”?

The AFSG will be off to a busy start in 2020. There is information below about our first Veterans Coffee Chat, a benefit for SSGT Ryan Davis, our Membership Meeting in February (great guest speaker) and our upcoming Veteran Golf Fundraising Event.

I have also attached a 2020 “New Years Resolution” Membership Letter which I hope everyone will read and respond to.

Important Dates

January 14, 2020, Tuesday

Veterans Coffee Chat

8 AM, Palo Verde Room...Sonoran Plaza

This will be our initial 2020 Veterans Coffee Chat meeting. I have invited Mr. Dave Martin, a SCG Long Range Planning Committee member to attend. Dave is also a member of the Village Redesign Team who will be responsible for the Veterans Monument project. Please plan to attend so Dave can talk to you directly about what our SCG Veterans ideas and concerns may be regarding the Veteran Monument design/location, etc.

This is a very important and interesting meeting. We will have our Charter Club Board Elections. Please let me know if you would be interested in joining or AFSG Board ASAP. You can nominate yourself or someone else (with their permission).

We also have a great guest speaker, Lt. Col. Matt “HAIL” Cisar, Director of Operations, 63rd Fighter Squadron “Panthers”. Lt. Col. Cisar will be speaking about Luke AFB as well as the F-35 program and training.

It should be a very interesting presentation. Please plan to attend and have your questions ready.

New membership pins are in for those who have ordered them and they look really great! If you have not ordered a new pin and would like to purchase one they cost $10 and you can order them before the meeting begins. We will also be having our raffle for one of our AFSG logo polo shirts!
