Newsletters
Greetings Everyone,

I sincerely hope that this Newsletter finds you and your loved ones are safe and healthy. These past 19 months have helped me develop a new sense of what is truly important in life.

It also signals a new beginning for the AFSG and our mission to support our military families, active and Veteran. We are beginning all over again with a new Board, new Veterans Golf Event, and new ideas from you on how we can move forward.

So lets begin:

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!
Membership Meeting
Tuesday, November 9, 2021
10 AM, Aqua Fria Room
Cimarron Center

This is an important meeting that will set the tone for our upcoming season. We need your input and help for our AFSG mission moving forward. Without your guidance, support, and approval we will not be as efficient reaching our potential.

Our guest speaker will be James McCarty, GS12, Flight Chief, Airman, Family Readiness. Three decades of service! James is responsible for the Airman’s Family Readiness Center at Luke Air Base. If you are looking for an opportunity to help our military families transition to Luke, don’t miss this presentation.

Remember, our meetings are not only open to you, but also your spouse, significant other, friends and guest! Bring someone!

Veterans Monument

I have some exciting news to share with you about this project that was first introduced in 2011 by Mr. Bill Fedor and Jerry Wojtas! Ten years later AFSG Veteran members as well as our Veteran Coffee Chat participants have been and will continue to be important resources/inputs for what the SCG Veterans and their families would like this Monument to represent. Don’t miss this important update!

Welcome Our New Board Members!

AFSG now has a 5 member Board:

New member to the Board: John Dunker - Treasurer, Bob Aiken - At large - Thank you both!

Existing Board Members: Eileen Joy - At large, Cheryl Curseaden - Secretary, Barry Curseaden - President.

2022 Veterans Golf Event

Sponsor Reception Dinner March 11, 2022

Golf Event only (NO GOLF DINNER!) March 12. 2022

Granite Falls South

Please note that there is only ONE golf course this year and NO golfer dinner.

The Board has decided to continue with our raffle as we have in the past, selling tickets at shot guns starts. This is all depending on where SCG regulations will be at that time. Stay tuned!

Remember this number $315,000! Why? Because it is all we need over the upcoming years to surpass - $1,000,000 donated to our Veteran Support Foundations! Just amazing!

We need you to show up at the Membership Meeting for suggestions on how we can make this years event with its many challenges, even more successful!

Survey Questions

Cam has asked the club presidents to survey their clubs about SCG mask policy. As I understand the policy now, masks must be worn in the “theater style seating events’ only. Do you agree with this policy? Y or N

Also, would you like to begin having social events beginning late November, early December? Y or N
