Good Day Members,

Well our big annual Veterans Event fundraiser is rapidly approaching (see attached Veterans Event tri fold for details) and it is time to step up! If you have not yet donated your requested volunteer two hours now is a great time to do so by selling raffle tickets, getting donations for raffle, and recruiting hole sponsors. Please read the the tri fold for important information. You do not have to be a golfer to participate and contribute to this event! Your help matters and now is the time! You may contact me directly if you have any questions, concerns or suggestions 623-398-5242 or afsginfo@aol.com Thanks, Barry

Membership Meeting

February 14, 2023, 10 AM Palms/Palo Verde Rm Sonoran Plaza

We are very fortunate to have a very special speaker Winnie Fritz. Winnie is a Vietnam nurse Veteran who has been instrumental in promoting health care for Veterans as well as serving as CEO hospital positions and international health care programs! You do not want to miss this special presentation by this very special speaker! This will also be a good time to bring any raffle donations you may have received or sign up to sell raffle tickets or be a hole sponsor for this years event

Finance Advisory Committee (FAC)

February 21, 2023, 10 AM Mediterranean Rm, Palm Center This is the very important second step on moving the Veterans Monument project forward. The FAC will be voting to recommend the contractors bid for the VM to the Board for the third and FINAL vote in March. Having members attend this meeting and supporting this long overdue project could be critical. You do not have to speak if you do not want to, however, just having present would also be helpful. We have never been this close to getting final approval for the Veterans Monument and we cannot take anything for granted. We need to stay vigilant.

January Social

AFSG held its first social of the season in January with a great turnout of members and guest! It was a great venue and good time with good food and sharing of information. We look forward to holding a second social in late March or April. Thanks to all who attended and to Dave Evangelista for taking photos of the event.

Cindy, Eileen and Treedah checking members in.
